What will it be like after we die?

What will "life" be like after we die? Will we cease to exist, or will we continue to live in another existence? Will we know people we have known on earth?

The purpose of our lives is become like our Heavenly Father. Thus if we fulfill our purpose, we will have the opportunity to be creators ourselves and continue to glorify God through eternal increase. We will also enjoy family relationships, since in this life we can be sealed to our families for all eternity. This is done today in Temples throughout the world.

Those who are less faithful to God and who reject the gift of Eternal Life, will also receive a kingdom of glory, but they will be like the angels in heaven and will not have the opportunity for eternal increase.

The hell spoken of in the scriptures that describe it as a place of fire and brimstone is figurative and represents a state of mind for those who are not faithful. Just as we are grieved by missed opportunities in this life, we will do the same in the next. It is not God that punishes us, it is ourselves.

By the grace of Christ we will all be resurrected and given a kingdom of glory, but it is up to us to determine what type of kingdom of glory we will receive based on our faithfulness.
